Precision die casting process and its advantages

Precision die casting is a kind of precision casting method, which pour molten alloy into the pressure chamber to fill the cavity of steel mould at high speed and make the alloy liquid solidify under pressure to form castings. Precision die casting has the following advantages.

1. Good product quality

The size accuracy of castings is high, generally equivalent to grade 6-7, or even up to grade 4; the surface finish is good, generally equivalent to grade 5-8; the strength and hardness are high, generally 25-30% higher than that of sand casting, but the elongation is reduced by about 70%; the size is stable, and the interchangeability is good; the thin-walled and complex castings can be die cast. For example, at present, the minimum wall thickness of zinc alloy die-casting can reach 0.3mm; aluminum alloy casting can reach 0.5mm; the minimum casting hole diameter is 0.7mm; the minimum pitch is 0.75mm.

2. High production efficiency

The machine productivity is high, for example, the domestic J Ⅲ 3 horizontal cold air die-casting machine can die-casting 600-700 times in eight hours on average, and the small hot chamber die-casting machine can die-casting 3000-7000 times in eight hours on average; the die-casting mold has a long life, a pair of die-casting mold, die-casting bell alloy, the life can reach hundreds of thousands of times, even millions of times; it is easy to realize mechanization and automation.

3. Good economic effect

Due to the precise size of the die casting, the surface is bright and clean. Generally, it is no longer used for machining, or the processing amount is very small, so it not only improves the metal utilization rate, but also reduces a large number of processing equipment and working hours; the casting price is easy; it can adopt combined die casting with other metal or non-metal materials. It can save both assembly time and metal.
